The National Conference on Education - February 19 - 21, 2009 - San Francisco, CA

2009 Call for Presentations

AASA's 2009 Call for Presentations is Now Closed!

Those who submitted a completed proposal will be notified of their status in early July.

You are invited to submit a presentation to participate as a presenter at the American Association of School Administrator’s 2009 National Conference on Education (NCE) hosted in San Francisco, Calif., Feb. 19-21, 2009.

As you know, AASA constantly strives to serve the evolving needs of public education leaders by re-evaluating the faculty and programming at the conference. Based on feed-back from working with our members and our state affiliates, we will be implementing a number of new ideas and initiatives in San Francisco that are geared towards providing additional value to our conference attendees. In doing so, AASA will create an environment that allows the attendee to interact with a robust community of superintendents and school leaders, all sharing a common purpose.

Specifically, the following changes will be implemented in 2009:

  1. Pattern change: The Conference will now stage from Thursday through Saturday. By rescheduling programming usually held on Sunday, AASA will decrease expenses for all attendees, minimize crucial time away from the office and provide a more focused learning environment.

  2. Thought Leaders: AASA strives to bring exemplary thought leaders to our conference to discuss critical issues that impact students, leaders, communities and school systems.

  3. Targeted curriculum: The educational content will focus on children and improving public education. Additionally, portions of the agenda will be targeted for aspiring leaders and the next generation of superintendents, women leaders, school boards, cabinet members, school administrators and CEOs/superintendents. Cross-over content will continue to appeal to a broad range of experience levels.

  4. Learning Tools for Attendees: Presenters will provide pre- and post-work, handouts and tools for attendees to enhance their learning.

  5. Commitment: We are committed to the success of the National Conference on Education. We will devote resources to enhance the educational program, provide more opportunities for idea sharing and dialogue and to improve the experience of every guest.

AASA is searching for the “best of the best” presenters to engage attendees in dialogue about cutting edge trends, issues and solutions to prepare our children for the future. Presenters at this year’s conference will play a vital role in implementing the changes listed above and in shaping the new look and feel of the 2009 National Conference on Education. Participation as a presenter will help attendees increase their leadership skills and professional competence, provide for an exchange of ideas and solutions and help attendees to address the controversial issues facing today’s educators. In doing so, AASA will create a community of learning that will help America’s public education leaders to improve the quality of education for all children.
