Handwriting in the 21st Century? An Educational Summit

Description: Handwriting in the 21st Century? An Educational Summit will gather renowned handwriting researchers and academics to present their findings on a variety of relevant topics including brain scan research suggesting that handwriting is a crucial component in setting up brain systems for reading acquisition, occupational therapy and kinematic issues in handwriting, and speedwriting and note-taking for college and career readiness, among others. These researchers will join educators from across the country to examine the continuing controversy over the role of handwriting instruction, especially cursive, in schools. AASA Executive Director Daniel A. Domenech will deliver the keynote address.
